This shanty hails from the days of slaving on the Zaire river in Africa. The traditional lyrics are extremely racist by today's standards, so we took the offensive ones out and/or replaced them with new ones. This version is closer to the ones heard sung today, for obvious reasons. We also took the slower driving rhythm of the original and replaced it with an upbeat one.
