This cotton stowing shanty was popular around the 1840's and was sung primarily by Irish workers who would move to the warmer latitudes during the winter to work heaving cotton in the southern US. We really liked the melody of this tune, but the original lyrics didn't really fit our style, so Craig re-wrote them into a story about the aftermath of a pirate crew's battle at sea.

Recorded on Aug 12, 2012 at the Pirates on the Prairie II concert, this track was considered for inclusion on the Bail Money album, but didn't make it due to the poor performance quality and space considerations.

Lead Vocals: David Ruffin, Doumbek: Craig Lutke, Djembe: Liz Quiroga
