The Bilge Pumps - Past Landings: Dickens on the Strand 2023

Galveston, TX December 1 - 3, 2023

The 50th anniversary of Dickens on the Strand was a fun event that included something that has been there for almost half of its existence, the Bilge Pumps! Rolling our wagons full of pirate music gear from stage to stage we spread the joy of pirate carols from the streets, alleys, rooftops, and wharves of downtown Galveston. Even the bobbies were bobbing along with the songs.

The Bilge Pumps perform on Fezziwig's Friday Night with 7 members for the first time ever.	The tall ship Elissa provides a lovely backdrop for the loveliest of pirate shows.	Splice the Rigger does a dramatic reading of "A Pirate's Night Before Christmas"
Splice and Sharkbait Simon the Scapegoat rile the crowd up, walking the parade.	The parade reversed the route direction for the first time in 2023 and most of the walkers staggered around confused.	Frenchie the Treasure Map has everything you need to lessen your worries... and some CD's.
The band kicks off a show with an ode to sunny days on "Here's to the Morning Glory".	Ruby Pearl the Quartermaster guards our gear wagon as we roll between stages.	If anyone was looking for a good view at the festival, we had it for you... as long as you looked up.
Splice keeps a weather eye out for any sign of loose change or loose women nearby.	The band welcomes in the new year with "A Pirate Auld Lang Syne"	The band celebrated a successful end to the festival by boarding the Elissa and stealing her... for about 20 seconds.
