The Bilge Pumps - Past Landings: Dickens on the Strand 2015

Galveston, TX December 4 - 6, 2015

The Bilge Pumps helped open the 42nd year of Dickens on the Strand by headlining its Fezziwig Friday night event with a skeleton crew, and then we surged headlong into the weekend, swapping guitarists each day. For the first time all fall, the weather was excellent and the crowds were thick and plentiful. We debuted our new pirate stocking packs to the delight of many and let the streets of downtown Galveston ring with the sounds of pirate carols.

It's Fezziwig's Friday Night! That means the Bilge Pumps are the only show in town for a good 45 minutes. Poor audience.	The band adds a Splice, swaps out a Jack for a Sharkbait, then proceeds to kick off Saturday.	The children's choir waiting to follow the Bilge Pumps on stage were forced to learn some new lyrics to carols they thought they knew well.
It's over to the Westminster Abbey Stage to ratchet up our ranking on Santa's naughty list	Then it's over to Steampunk Square to continue the grand tour of Victorian England in Texas.	All this stage-hopping meant that most people saw the Bilge Pumps in their transit mode.
The stage tour concluded with a night show where we sent Harvey into the crowd to sneak up on people's daughters.	There was only one show that featured 5 Bilge Pumps on the stage at the same time. Why? Because.	The band is rewarded for all their travels by staying on the same stage for their last 2 shows! Now it just feels strange.
