The Bilge Pumps - Past Landings: CD Release Party 2013

Shawnee, OK February 23, 2013

The Bilge Pumps released our album "The Idiodyssey" in October 2012, but due to a busy fall schedule and the holiday season, we delayed the CD Release Party 'til February. Then, we decided to do it up in Oklahoma, where the highest concentration of Bilge-fans still resides to test the waters and see if Okies still love us. After a couple of different options for locations were explored, we landed at the Ritz Theater in Shawnee for the celebration/concert and it turned out wonderfully! Lots of fans showed up to support both the band and the theater and we got a chance to debut songs to them from the new album to get them in that pirate spirit. The people at the Ritz were accomodating and hospitable... so much so, you have to wonder if they knew we were pirates. All in all, it was a grand, piratey way to help launch a new CD!

The Bilge Pumps name is in lights again as the pirates invade the Ritz Theater in Shawnee.	John Crow the Cook and Maroon the Shantyman welcome the audience to the Ritz in a veiled attempt at getting them to buy a CD.	Harvey the Corpsman breaks the rust off his old pipes singing "Black and Tans".
The band tries out a new set of wireless headset mics for the show. Unfortunately, we sang so loud, it drained the batteries in a 1/2 a set.	Looks like the pirates took out all the stops and raided Harvey's booty bin to prevent Maroon from singing "Mrs. McGrath".	When Harvey sings, the lights from heaven open up and bathe the band in radiance.
Everyone leans in close to get a look at the set list printed off in teeny, tiny font.	Splice the Rigger and Sharkbait Simon get an accompanying bass section while they sing "Larry Marr".	Ummm... uh... yeah... that's... well...
Everyone confiscates John Crow's bell collection during "Strike the Bell".	The Bilge Pumps sing a special birthday song to Cici, who's been watching the band since she was a newborn. Atta girl!	This shot, taken from the sales booth, shows the best seat in the house... far removed from the band.
