The Bilge Pumps - Past Landings: Dickens on the Strand 2024

Galveston, TX December 6 - 8, 2024

The 51st season of Dickens on the Strand kicked off with a lovely evening at Fezziwig's Friday night as we wrapped up the evening with pirate music and carols. Then, the weather caught up with us as Saturday and Sunday brought rain in bands that forced us to downshift shows to singing and drums. However, once the rain stopped long enough to allow us, we brought out all our instruments and were able to put on full shows to appreciative audiences. In our letters to Santa this year, we need to include absolute control of the weather on our Christmas list.

It's Fezziwig's Friday Night and the Bilge Pumps have taken over the joint.	With Fanny/Crow/Black Pearl unavailable for the show, we were down to 4 Bilge Pumps for the weekend.	The crowd didn't seem to mind, though. They were probably too filled with beer and frozen to their seats to move.
Splice the Rigger and Maroon the Shantyman get all aggressive in their holiday wishes on "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".	The band breaks into Ruby Pearl the Quartermaster's original song "Crow's Nest".	It's time for the crowd favorite (and longest Christmas song we have), "The Twelve Days of Christmas".
The rainy weekend would see the band leave the comfort of the big tent, unfortunately, and on to the outdoor stages where the rain would come down.	Luckily for the band, they debuted their latest merch wagon... fully waterproof... with a helper that speaks Gen Z.	Splice breaks out the lingerie for "Biddy McGrath". Sea-cups to be sure.
