The Bilge Pumps - Past Landings: Tall Ships Galveston 2023

Galveston, TX April 14 - 16, 2023

The tall ships were back! After 5 years gone, the tall timber and steel came rolling back into Galveston bay as the strand harkened back to its glory days where tall ships anchored all around the harbor. We put on 1 show/day on the main stage to help keep everyone hydrated by all the singing spit we sling from the stage. We might have had a hard time fitting between the speakers, but at least we had something large and vibrating nearby to lean on. We also couldn't resist taking a few promo shots among the grand ladies tied to the dock... and the ships, too.

The Bilge Pumps hit the main stage at Tall Ships Galveston... and are promptly shown up by the gigantic speakers.	The audience fills in with people eagerly anticipating something amazing... so we gave them all free beer.	John Crow the Cook takes the opportunity to hide behind the main speakers during the show. We're assuming a flask was involved.
The poor sound tech was kept on his toes all day dealing with us fussy bands and the even fussier weather.	Somehow, John Crow still stays hidden even when you go to the side of the stage.	Maroon breaks out the steel drum to return a bit of calypso to the Gulf of Mexico on Banana Boat Pirates.

Splice shows the audience just what to watch out for in the harbor during Rippy the Gator.

And then there's the real reason people come to this event... tallships like the Nao Trinidad.
